Brothers of Our Lady of Mercy

The tomb of Victor Scheppers

During the last years of his life, V. Scheppers suffered from a renal disease. Nimal even speaks of a ten years torture.

His treating doctor was Dr. Stobbaerts from Walem and there was also professor Michaux from the University of Louvain who helped him. This last one was famous in surgery. They even feared for his life several times.

The congregation itself followed up his situation by letters from Scheppers , from the Brothers assistant, from the manager Vincent or from Brother Cassien.

On March 1877, V. Scheppers passed away. But in the schools of Scheppers, he is still alive.
